Local guides

Notes on the homes, gardens and packages that suit each area.

  • Great Park

Newer homes with bifold doors, compact gardens and a lot of heavy clay under a thin layer of topsoil.

  • Killingworth

Homes from Killingworth's new-town years and the estates added since, many with a tired patio or an old timber deck that's had its day.

  • Longbenton and Forest Hall

Post-war semis with long back gardens, and older terraces around Forest Hall.

  • Westerhope and Kingston Park

Bungalows and semis in Westerhope, and the 1980s and 1990s estates of Kingston Park.

  • Wallsend

Tyneside terraces with back yards near the old shipyards, and family semis on the estates up the hill.

  • Newburn and Lemington

Homes on the slopes above the Tyne, from Lemington up to Throckley, where many gardens fall away from the house towards the river.

  • North Shields

Victorian terraces near the town centre and Fish Quay, and family estates further out.

Newcastle gardens, and what we plan for

Terraced back yards in Heaton and Fenham often mean everything comes through the back lane, which suits a compact Classic deck. Semis in Gosforth and Kenton tend to have a step down from the back door, which is where a Signature deck earns its keep. Newer homes around Great Park and Killingworth often have heavy clay under thin topsoil, so we plan the posts and drainage for it.

Whatever the garden, the survey is where we spot this, so your quote is right first time.

And across the North East

The same packages, the same colour consultation and the same fitting standard, wherever you are.

  • Gateshead

Low Fell, Whickham, Ryton, Birtley and the hillside gardens south of the river.

  • North and South Tyneside

From Whitley Bay and Tynemouth to Jarrow and South Shields, where coastal gardens need fixings that cope with salt and wind.

  • Sunderland and Wearside

Washington, Houghton-le-Spring and the coast at Seaburn and Roker.

  • Northumberland

Cramlington, Morpeth, Ponteland, Hexham and the bigger rural plots beyond.

  • County Durham

Durham, Chester-le-Street, Consett and the old pit villages, often on heavy clay.

  • Teesside

Stockton, Middlesbrough, Yarm and Ingleby Barwick, on request.
