Common questions
How much does composite decking cost?
From around £150 per square metre supplied and fitted, depending on height, ground, boards and extras. See the price guide for typical decks. Guide prices only, not a quote or offer.
How long does composite decking last?
Good composite boards fitted properly last for many years, and makers often back them with long warranties. The frame matters too, so we build it from treated timber with joist tape to protect the tops of the joists.
How do I clean composite decking?
A sweep and a wash with warm soapy water a couple of times a year. Clear leaves in autumn so they don't stain. No oiling, staining or sanding.
Is composite decking slippery?
Grooved and embossed boards grip well. As with any outdoor surface, keep it clear of moss and wet leaves in winter.
Do I need planning permission?
Usually not for a garden deck no higher than 30cm that, with other extensions and outbuildings, covers no more than half the garden. Raised decks, flats and listed homes are different; we'll flag it at the survey.
Can you build on a slope?
Yes. A raised frame on posts makes a level deck on a sloping garden, often with steps down to the lawn. That's our Signature package.
Do you remove old decking or slabs?
Yes, if you'd like us to. We'll include it in your quote.
Do you supply boards without fitting?
No. We supply and fit, so we can stand behind the whole deck.
